Biography

Joshua Boger, Ph.D., is Chairman of the Board. He is a founder of Vertex Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Boger has been Chief Executive Officer of Vertex since 1992 and Chairman of the Board since 1997. He was President of the Company from its inception in 1989 until December 2002 and from May 2005 until the present, and Chief Scientific Officer from 1989 until May 1992. From 1987 to 1989, Dr. Boger was Senior Director of Basic Chemistry at Merck Sharp & Dohme Research Laboratories.
